It is a festival of the victory of Truth over Falsehood, Dharma over Adharma and all good things over all evil.

The entire nation celebrates this festival with zeal and enthusiasm. A visit to any of the places where Dussehra is celebrated makes one feel as if the entire population of that area has come out to participate in the celebrations and witness the burning of the effigies of Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath at sunset. This is an indication as to how deep and strong the roots of our cultural heritage are in our society.

Let us learn from the past, evolve new ideas in the present and march vigorously for a better future for our great nation. Let us make our nation so strong that even 100 Ravans may not be able to do any harm to us.

Condolence Message on the sad demise of Dr. Y S Rajshekhar Reddy

I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of the unfortunate demise of Dr. Y. S. Rajshekhar Reddy, Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in a tragic accident in the Nallamalla forests of Andhra Pradesh.

Since yesterday, all of us have been tracking the latest updates on the missing helicopter with hope and anxiety but none of us expected such tragic news.

Dr. Reddy’s contribution towards the welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh, whether in power or out of power, is really commendable. He would not only be remembered as a very popular mass leader but also as an icon of development and good governance.

I pray to the Almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul and give enough strength to his family, colleagues, followers and all nears and dears to enable them to bear this unbearable shock.

I also extend my sympathies to the families of Shri P Subrahmanyam, Special Secretary, Shri A S C Wesley, Chief Security Officer as well as the pilots of the helicopter Shri S K Bhatia and Shri M S Reddy, who also lost their lives in the accident while on duty.

I express my heartfelt condolences on this sad occasion.
